Must you ask, “What will my baby look like”?

How many times is that question asked in the long months of pregnancy? I suppose as future parents we want our children to look adorable. What parent would not care what their baby looked like? What will my baby look like was asked hundreds of times by my excited wife. Yes, I confess, I asked the question a few times too, but at least not in the hundreds. It’s amazing how that question can really knaw at your mind and can build up so much suspense. And it sure is a relief when your mind is put to rest and you hold your first child rapped in hospital blankets in your arms while allocating his or her different features to yourself, wife, father, mother-in-law and so on.
